Introducing Pando, the world’s largest tree

Have you ever heard of Pando?

Often referred to as the world’s largest living organism, Pando is an awe-inspiring natural wonder. Spanning 106 acres in Utah, this aspen colony consists of over 40,000 genetically identical stems, all connected by a single root system.

Estimated to be thousands of years old, Pando stands as one of the oldest and most remarkable life forms on Earth.

We’ve chosen Friends of Pando as one of our inspiring tree partners to help conserve planetary health. Read on to learn more!

Partnering with Friends of Pando

At WellReceived, we believe in giving back to protect the future of our planet. That’s why we’ve partnered with Friends of Pando, a nonprofit dedicated to researching, conserving, and restoring this extraordinary organism. Their mission includes:

  • Conducting scientific studies to monitor Pando’s health and threats
  • Implementing habitat restoration efforts such as fencing and regeneration projects
  • Raising public awareness to inspire conservation action

Despite its resilience, Pando faces significant challenges from climate change, land development, and disruptions to its natural growth cycle. By supporting Friends of Pando, we’re helping to ensure this ancient giant continues to thrive.

Why Pando Matters

Pando is more than just a tree – it’s an interconnected ecosystem that supports biodiversity and plays a vital role in carbon storage. However, without intervention, parts of the colony are deteriorating faster than they can regenerate.

By implementing conservation strategies like protecting vulnerable areas, planting new shoots, and addressing external threats, Friends of Pando is helping to make this restoration possible. With dedicated support, Pando can continue to flourish for generations to come.

Our broader commitment to planetary health

WellReceived understands that the health of our planet directly impacts human well-being and global health. Climate change is one of the most pressing threats to public health, affecting air quality, food security, and ecosystems.

By planting trees, we actively help combat rising carbon levels and lay the foundation for a healthier future. Trees serve as one of the most effective natural defences against climate change, absorbing between 10 and 40 kg of carbon over their lifetime. That’s why, every month, we plant a tree for each customer and team member.

In addition, we’re growing and maintaining our own forest in Scotland, ensuring long-term sustainability efforts remain at the heart of what we do.

Join us in giving back

By protecting Pando, we’re contributing to a healthier planet. Join us in supporting this incredible cause and be part of the effort to preserve one of nature’s greatest wonders. Visit Friends of Pando’s website to learn more about how you can help.
